My Personal Growth Plan I plan to use my personal growth plan as my goals for my Annual Professional Growth Plan for 2021-2022. I am excited to continue my learning and I am hoping to attend technology conferences to learn more! Some conferences that have caught my eye are as follows:  EdTechWorld Form 2021-Virtual Conference  and the  Future of Education Technology Conference . As I stated in my professional growth plan that I would also be interested in the future completing my Masters in Educational Technology. I really enjoyed developing a resource deposit for math instruction! I have used this website throughout my math instruction and it has been a great resource for students to use in class and at home. Parents also have reported that it has been useful in helping with homework. I plan to continue to build the resources that I have for the grade 5 curriculum. I have been compiling resources on my google classroom that I will eventually add to the website. I have also started building other sub-pages that are not shown within the navigation. This picture shows what I am currently working on for my Class Website. These are the sub-pages not shown within the navigation.  Here is a picture of one of the pages in my resource deposit.  I have learned that resource deposits are extremely useful and I am looking forward to sharing this resource with my colleagues and seeing what resources they recommend to add. I also would like to build a resource deposit for other curriculum...

For Module 3, I had the opportunity to explore three unique pieces of technology including Storybird, Co-Spaces EDU and Clips. In this blog I will highlight each technology and explain how I plan to use it within my classroom. What is Storybird? Storybird is a website that allows students to create writing pieces with beautiful artwork. Students choose to create a picture book, long from story, comic, flash fiction or poetry. After, students select a gallery of artwork they would like to use for their writing piece. Then students use a generated selection of artwork to develop their writing piece. Students can only use the artwork that has been generated for them and cannot search for other pictures. A template makes it easy for students to add pages to the writing pieces they created and change the positioning of the picture and text on each page.  How I plan to use it within my classroom?  -an option for free write (the artwork supports students with generating new ide...

Module 2: Reflection of Learning- Establishing My Professional Internet Presence: This was my first time using Google Sites to establish a website and I am very much enjoying the experience. Google Sites is very easy to use being able to drag and drop pictures or files and embed URL links and videos, allowing you to develop a comprehensive website with ease. I wanted my website to have practical use and to be a tool that I use consistently within my everyday teaching. Every year I develop a new Google Classroom and post resources and assignments for students and generally archive my class and sometimes I will go back through and find videos or online games that I have used previously to post on my current classroom. By making a website with all the necessary resources I wouldn't  have to recreate the wheel every year like I do when I make a Google Classroom, instead I could keep adding useful resources.   I thought it would be a wonderful idea to create a website whe...

Module #1: Reflection of Learning "How are kids different today?"   "How is technology changing the way we learn and teach?" The ISTE Standards for Students:   Are these standards similar to your expectations of learners? What is different? These standards are similar to my expectations of learners. The following chart explains what I currently do as an educator in these areas and outlines what standard I would like to explore further to support my students learning. Digital Citizen -This is an area I always start off with before students receive their Chrome books and logins. -Our discussion sets the framework and norms for future tasks we will be completing throughout the year. - We have a discussion of what it means to be a responsible digital citizen. I find students generally have prior knowledge in this area from discussions at home, playing video games, or computer games online.  -I find this youtube video helpful for setting the stage : Being a Good Digita...
